All Executive Board Members: Require an average of 1 evening meeting a month alternating between membership and board meetings. Must be willing to attend a PTSA training and at least one member of the Executive Committee must take PTA & the Law every year. Positions start July 1st, 2026 and ends June 30th, 2027.
Time Commitment: 16-18 hours/month.
Job Description: The president is the presiding officer and the official spokesperson for the local PTSA. The president presides at all meetings and plans the meeting agenda with the Secretary, utilizing input from others. The president must remain impartial when serving as the presiding officer at meetings. The president delegates responsibility and develops leaders by empowering others and acknowledging their efforts. He or she should communicate regularly with officers and chairs and be available to members. The president should have a positive relationship with the principal and staff and should encourage PTSA members to do the same. He or she should promote a positive image for the PTSA within the community.
Time Commitment: 6-10 hours/month.
Job Description: The Vice President’s duties are to preside at meetings in the absence of the president and to act as assistant to the president in whatever way is needed. The Vice President also may chair committees, depending on the needs of the current board.
Time Commitment: 6-8 hours/month.
Job Description: The duties of the secretary include: taking minutes, planning agendas, issuing notices of meetings, handling correspondence, and keeping an up-to-date roster of members and a current record of all committees.
Time Commitment: 10-15 hours/month.
Job Description: The treasurer is responsible for all bookkeeping and financial record keeping for the PTSA. Bookkeeping duties include receiving and recording all payments in the financial management system, processing & paying all invoices and reimbursement requests and setting up and maintaining the annual budget. They are also responsible for filing tax returns, providing monthly financial reports to the board of directors and membership and preparing files for the two annual internal audits, which are conducted by the financial review committee in January and July of each year. The treasurer is also the head of the gifts to School Grant committee.

Job Description: The Communications Chair is responsible for managing outbound communications via the KMS PTSA digital newsletter, social media (Facebook & Instagram) events/posts/stories, website & Google calendar updates, and provisioning + administration of Google Suite emails. Platforms include, but are not limited to, Google Suite, Givebacks, Canva, Facebook, and Instagram.

A Special Education Chair should lead a committee dedicated to providing support and information to these families. It is important that the role of the Special Education Chair is never to provide legal advice to families, even if they are very experienced. Rather they should point to reliable sources of support and information in the community.
Ensure all PTA events are accessible to all families by providing input during event planning.
Share information to PTA members regarding local sources of support and information.
Collaborate with school administrators to support families with children with disabilities and advocate for inclusive, equitable and family centered approaches to special education practices.

The fundraising chair works with school volunteers, parents, students, staff and community members to oversee all fundraising activities for the PTA.
The chair works with the treasurer to track fundraising income and expenses, ensuring that funds are used effectively and in accordance with the budget.
The chair collaborates with the PTA president and other board members to establish realistic and achievable fundraising goals that align with the PTA's overall objectives.

Involves planning, organizing, and executing Staff Appreciation Week (in May), along with lunches and other appreciation events throughout the school year.
Key duties include working within your budget, procuring donations or supplies, coordinating volunteers, managing communication with staff and the school, and overseeing event logistics such as setup and cleanup.
